ARTIST STATEMENT

For me, art is love, life, and freedom. My multifaceted approach to exploring art is fueled by a relentless curiosity to learn about myself and the universe created before me. Creating art is a gateway into my subconscious, a journey I plan to embark on for my entire life. My artistic process involves reaching into my mind and capturing the mosaic of ideas that flow in a tumultuous nature. Diversifying my outlets is crucial as it allows me to build worlds and tell stories of my personal experiences, all deeply influenced by my Latinidad and culture.

Being a Latino artist in LA often feels like a battle and a struggle to be accepted by a rich culture, while simultaneously facing discouragement from society and the capitalistic nature of the USA. I use my art to critique American consumerism, offering a reflective and critical perspective on its impact.

My work often references a dream world that feels both surreal and spiritual, yet remains grounded in reality. Through various mediums, I explore themes of spiritual and mental inquiry, cultural gratitude, and the essence of the Latino experience.

The mantra, "ART WILL SET U FREE," encapsulates my ethos, boldly proclaiming the transformative power of artistic expression. Whether it's murals that energize neighborhoods, films that convey my visual ideas, or collaborations with global brands, my journey is a testament to the belief that art has the power to transcend boundaries and unite communities.

In my practice, I strive to create pieces that resonate on a deep, personal level while also sparking broader conversations. Art is not just a profession for me; it is a way of life and a means to connect with others, share experiences, and inspire change.
